The Tri- Polish Challenge: Day 8, Turquoise- White- Orange Gradient & Multicolored Glitter

Hello everyone!

Turquoise- White- Orange Gradient & Multicolored Glitter & Matte Top Coat

I started with white nails, and wanted the tip to be orange, and the other half of the nail turquoise, and tried to make a gradient towards the white center of the nail. Then I top coated, and added one coat of multicolored glitter, and top coated again. So I'll start with photos after top coat, then with matte top coat. And after the list of what I used, photos from how it was done.

With matte top coat:

Nail polish used:

IsaDora: #967 Clear 6-in-1 (base coat)
OPI: My Boyfriend Scales Walls (white)
H&M: Bella's Choice (turquoise)
Gosh: #570 Peachy (orange)
Seche Vite: Dry Fast (top coat)
Deborah Lippmann: Happy Birthday (clear base with multicolored glitter)
Poché: Super Fast Drying (top coat)
Gosh: #600 Matt Effect Top Coat

What I did:

As you see, I used different techniques this time, but I would never have managed to make a gradient if I hadn't seen this Gradient Nails Tutorial made by The Nailasaurus. And I just saw on facebook that it has it's 1 year anniversary today, so I felt I should mention it. It has been very helpful. I am so used to use her technique that I forget to give her credit any more. But I did, the first time I made a gradient.

The Tri- Polish Challenge: Day 7, Cherry Tree with Parrot

Hello everyone!

This is my version of Cherry Blossom Nails. I started with white nails, and made a gradient. Then I stamped the branches with flowers, using the black and the white Konad stamping polish, and Konad m66. Then I added a parrot water decal, and stamped more flowers, and dotted pink flowers with white center. I'm not completely satisfied with this manicure, but it seems to have turned out ok.

Cherry Tree with Parrot nails, holding Konad m66

This is supposed to look like branches from the cherry tree in bloom, and a parrot sitting on one of them. The ground is pink because of all the flowers that has fallen to the ground. After I found out which world day it is today, the parrot also became a symbol for the wild, free, and hopefully happy animal. (More photos after the rabbit!)

Today is World Day for Animals in Laboratories, so let's take a moment to think about these animals. I try to avoid buying nail polish, toothpaste, cosmetics, and household products that are tested on animals, but when it comes to medicines it's not so easy to avoid. Also many countries allow toxicity testing on animals. I think it is unnecessary to test each batch of household products that we already know should not be eaten, like bleach.

Sorry about the dry cuticles on the photos taken outside.

The snow has just melted here, so therefor I had to use fake branches for these photos.

Used:

OPI: My Boyfriend Scales Walls -white (I don't know what I'm going to do when the bottle is empty, now that I have seen that OPI is removed from many cruelty- free lists! I hope it will be like with Body Shop, so that OPI can stay cruelty- free, even though it's parent company do test on animals.)
Gosh#589 Bubble Gum -pink (I can't find this polish on Gosh's page)
H&MBella's Choice -turquoise (also used here) (I can't find this polish on H&M's page)
Sponge -to make gradient (A very good car sponge)
Konad: Black -stamping polish
Konad: White -stamping polish
Konad: m66 -stamping plate/ also used as palette
Dotting tool -to make pink flowers/ mixing tool for the gradient
Parrot water decal (Tropical Birds water decals made by U-Neek Nail Art, from eBay)

Below you can check out the other participants nails for day 7 in the Tri- Polish Challenge. I feel the manicures are getting better and better, and it's interesting to see how different our nails look even though we are using the same colors.

The Tri- Polish Challenge: Day 6, Stamped Framed Dots

Hello everyone!

For day 6 I used all three colors; pink, orange and turquoise. I added holographic glitter, and used Messy Mansion MM02 and Konad black to stamp the illusion of dots. I didn't know if I would succeed with the frame, so I took photos before and after painting the frame, so I hope you are prepared for a lot of photos.

Before painting the frame:

With frame:

Used:
Gosh: #589 Bubble Gum (pink)
H&M: Bella's Choice (turquoise)
Gosh: #570 Peachy (orange)
H&M: Joe Is In The House (silver holographic glitter)
Messy Mansion: MM02 (stamping plate)
Konad: Black (stamping polish)
H&M: Black (Nail polish with striping brush. It's just called 'Black', and came in a little nail art kit with white, dark pink/red and black, and 20 stensils. No name on the set, just 'Nail Art', but it's new.)

And as usual, you'll find thumbnails with links to the other participants' creations below!

The Tri- Polish Challenge: Day 5, Turquoise with pink bar glitter and frame

Hello everyone!

I made this for Day 5. I just painted my nails turquoise, added pink holographic bar/ string glitter, and painted a pink frame. It's the first time I've used Orly Be Brave. I don't understand why, because it's such a fun glitter.

Orly: 'Be Brave' layered over H&M: 'Bella's Choice'

APRIL COLORS:
It's April, and that means that we have to choose 3 new polishes for this challenge. The colors for APRIL'S Tri Polish Challenge are pink, turquoise, and orange. I decided in the last minute to use Gosh #589 Bubble Gum (pink), H&M Bella's Choice (turquoise), Gosh #570 Peachy (orange), as you can see on the photo below.

Tri- Polish Challenge April: H&M: Bella's Choice, Gosh: Peachy, Gosh: Bubble Gum
